At Obria, we believe that no one should have to walk through an unplanned pregnancy alone. With compassion, truth, and practical support, we help women and couples move from fear to hope—and sometimes, even joy. One of those stories belongs to Linda and Zen, a young couple whose journey reminds us how powerful love and support can be.
A Future Clouded by Fear
Just a couple of years ago, Linda and Zen—both teenagers—came to Obria Los Angeles overwhelmed by an unplanned pregnancy. The fear of the unknown weighed heavily on them. They had questions, anxiety, and no clear sense of what the future held.
Zen, determined to find help, searched online and discovered our clinic. He hoped there was a place where they could receive real guidance—not pressure. Linda, raised in a conservative Christian home, felt completely unprepared to share the news with her mother. Though she believed in the sanctity of life, shame and fear began to cloud her convictions.
Finding Truth, Love, and Clarity
When they walked into our clinic, something shifted. Linda later shared how relieved she was to discover that Obria was a faith-based, non-judgmental space. She and Zen were welcomed with warmth, listened to with empathy, and prayed over with love.
“Often times you don’t know the intention of others, but at Obria LA, we felt that the support was genuine and pure.”
— Linda
Obria Los Angeles offered them the opportunity to see their baby through ultrasound. In that moment, fear gave way to wonder. What once felt like chaos became a moment of clarity, as Linda and Zen began to embrace the beautiful life growing inside her.
We walked with them well beyond that first visit—providing diapers, baby clothes, and emotional support, and connecting them to A Stable Space, a partner organization that completely renovated a room for Linda and her baby. It became a place of peace and safety in a time of transition.
“You Helped Us See What We Couldn’t Before”
As Zen reflected on their journey, he shared something powerful:
“Pre-baby, we didn’t know what to expect… But after having the baby, you can’t imagine making a decision that would take that away from you. It’s the fear and emotions that cause you not to see the final outcome of the situation.”
— Zen
Now, their son Zayden is a thriving, active 18-month-old who loves being outdoors and exploring the world around him. Linda earned her license as a manicurist and runs a successful nail business. Zen is a devoted father and provider. Together, they continue to attend the church Linda grew up in—where they are surrounded by love and community.
“The conversations we had with your staff enabled us to calm down and not feel overwhelmed. This gave us stability among the chaos.”
— Linda
A Story Made Possible by Grace—and You
Linda and Zen’s journey could have ended very differently. But because of the grace of God, the support of a caring community, and the generosity of people like you, they are now living a life filled with joy, purpose, and love.
